Muhammadi Welfare Foundation (MWF) is a non-profit charitable organization established in 2003 dedicated to ensuring safe blood transfusion and advancing thalassemia prevention across Pakistan. Through its licensed blood banks and community health initiatives, MWF strives to provide every patient with timely access to safe and screened blood.
The Foundation operates Thalassemia Centers in Karachi, Jacobabad, and Multan, where registered children receive free-of-cost blood transfusions and comprehensive care. Beyond treatment, MWF places strong emphasis on prevention and awareness. The organization runs Thalassemia Prevention Desks located at NADRA Awami Markaz (Karachi) and NADRA Sukkur, established in collaboration with the Government of Sindh Health Department and the Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA). These desks conduct premarital screening, genetic counseling, and public education to reduce the transmission of thalassemia to future generations.
By working closely with hospitals, universities, and government bodies, MWF has built a sustainable model that integrates clinical excellence with social responsibility. Through its ongoing efforts, the Foundation continues to save lives, raise awareness, and move closer to a thalassemia-free Pakistan where every transfusion is safe and every marriage is informed.
