The Sunrise journey began in 1957, when our visionary Founder, Ata Ur Rahman, launched Universal Plastic Industry in Karachi. From a modest setup on Frere Road with just one semi-automatic injection-moulding machine, the company quickly gained a reputation for its unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit.
By 1960, the success of Universal Plastic enabled the acquisition of a competitor—Atlas Plastic. Managing both companies simultaneously allowed the leadership to gain critical insights into scaling operations and product specialization. In 1969, the establishment of a new manufacturing facility in the SITE industrial area of Karachi marked the birth of Sunrise Plastic. This milestone diversified the company’s offerings to include both industrial components and household plastic products, paving the way for a full-service manufacturing model as the businesses merged their strengths. In 1986, Sunrise Plastic took a major leap forward by installing its first fully automatic blow-moulding machine, expanding its capabilities into plastic bottle production. This strategic move opened doors to collaborations with leading names in the FMCG and pharmaceutical sectors.
Today, Sunrise Plastic operates state-of-the-art facilities in Karachi and Rahim Yar Khan, producing innovative packaging solutions for essential industries including personal care, home care, food and beverage, and pharmaceuticals. Our clients benefit from tailored manufacturing services powered by cutting-edge technology and personalized support.
In 2021, we proudly introduced HomeWell, a dedicated consumer brand of Sunrise Plastic, offering high-quality household plastic products designed for everyday living. HomeWell reflects our continued commitment to practicality, reliability, and affordable innovation—right where it matters most: the home.
